The organic farming is the genesis of our project.
Our project considered, since the beginning, the grapes organic cultivation without using chemical fertilizers or chemical pesticides, in order to reach harmony between wine production and our environment. For these objectives the vineyards location as well the grapes quality we wanted to cultivate were the two most important factors to consider.
The studies about different aspects that influence on the grapes production determinated that Los Guindos -located in Maipo Valley- was an excellent option due to the high quality of the soil, the irrigation system that would be used and the relative isolation of the vineyard, which eliminates contamination with chemical fertilizers and pesticide used from others farmings. Thus, the conditions were optimal to begin the production of organic grapes, and consequently we started the organic growing in 1997. Currently, we cultivate 85 Hás. of red grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Carménère and Cabernet Franc, certified organic by IMO/Ecocert.
Since 2012 both grapes and wine production are also certified fair trade -Fair for Life- by Ecocert.
