The wine is 100% organic when it is elaborated from organically grown grapes and its elaboration process has not sulphites added (sulfur dioxide or S02) or any other chemical product added to the grapes.
Year 2014 we were recognized by the most important Chilean newspaper -El Mercurio- as one of the most innovative wineries in the country due to the development and launching of our 100% organic wine.
Thus, there are wines made from organically grown grapes with sulphites added and with no sulfites added , being the last ones 100% organic. At Viña Teillery we have these two lines of wines, according to the preferences and lifestyle of each consumer.

100% Organic Wines, No Sulphites Added. Why?
There is a growing demand for organic and natural wine by consumers concerned about their health and the quality of the wine.
The sulphite (SO2 or Sulphur dioxide) is the most widely used and controversial additive in winemaking. It’s used as an antiseptic (to kill off unwanted moulds, bacteria and yeasts) and as an antioxidant (to inhibit oxygen spoiling the wine).
It’s also used quite widely in the food industry, but it seems an increasing number of us are allergic or sensitive to it, some report flu like symptoms, rashes, even severe headaches or onset of asthma attacks. Along with the alcohol in wine, it is also thought to contribute to that grim ‘morning after’ feeling.
Those who consume 100% organic wines will not only drink a wine made exclusively from grape juice (juice), but will also be able to enjoy it without any of the aforementioned drawbacks. In relation to aging, in our experience, wines without added sulfates age as well as normal wines, and will often benefit from decanting or aeration first, to remove all those fruity aromas and flavors.
